Victims of crime and abuse are thrust into a world they did not choose, and as a result, they may lose faith in the people closest to them, including friends, family, and coworkers and faith in their ability to protect and provide for their family or themselves.
For a variety of reasons, crimes aren't always reported, and the victims attempt to continue with their lives like nothing happened. While this can sometimes work for a little while but the residual emotions left over from the traumatic event often build up under the surface over time. Eventually all that pressure must go somewhere and begins to affect their everyday lives. That's where we can help.
Victims of crime can experience many side effects including:
- Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Insomnia or Fatigue

- Sadness
- Confusion

- Issues with concentration
- Reduction in work or school performance
