Hypnotherapy for Victims of Crime

Seddon Hypnotherapy understands the conflicted emotions that can come with the trauma associated with victims experiencing the aftermath of a crime.

Victims of crime and abuse are thrust into a world they did not choose, and as a result, they may lose faith in the people closest to them, including friends, family, and coworkers and faith in their ability to protect and provide for their family or themselves.

For a variety of reasons, crimes aren't always reported, and the victims attempt to continue with their lives like nothing happened. While this can sometimes work for a little while but the residual emotions left over from the traumatic event often build up under the surface over time. Eventually all that pressure must go somewhere and begins to affect their everyday lives. That's where we can help.

Victims of crime can experience many side effects including:

  • Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Headaches
  • Nausea
  • Insomnia or Fatigue
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Repeated thoughts of the event
  • Guilt
  • Fear
  • Anger
  • Sadness
  • Confusion
  • Helplessness
  • Issues with concentration
  • Reduction in work or school performance
  • Withdrawal from family and friends

You can feel these emotions because even though physically the event has passed, in the area of your brain traumatised by the event, you are still experiencing it, still stuck there.

There is nothing wrong with needing help to escape the traumatising events of the past. We will help you optimise your mind and step into a future of inner strength and optimism.

We work closely surviving victims and understand that clients can use funding from VOCAT to engage with our services.

We offer sessions with experienced and empathetic hypnotherapists that provide support and assistance to surviving victims of crime.
